At ChaosPrep (operated by sval.tech), we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our exam tracking application.

1. Information We Collect

We only collect the information necessary to provide you with a seamless tracking experience:

• Account Information: When you sign in via Google, we collect your basic profile information (name, email address, and profile picture) to create and authenticate your account.
• Usage Data & Study Logs: We store the data you input into the app, including tasks, mock exam scores, error logs, study session durations, syllabus progress, and custom subjects.
• Squad Data: If you use the Squad feature, we store your unique invite code and the connections you make with other users.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is strictly used to power the features of ChaosPrep:

• To synchronize your study progress, tasks, and settings across your devices.
• To generate analytics, graphs, and insights regarding your exam preparation.
• To enable multiplayer accountability features (Squads), allowing connected friends to view your live study status, display name, and shared daily targets.

3. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We are an independent student project, not a data broker. We only share information in the following limited circumstances:

• With your Squad: Users who you have mutually connected with via the Squad feature can see your custom display name, avatar, live focus status, and tasks (if "Share Tasks" is enabled in settings).
• Service Providers: We use trusted third-party services (like Firebase/Google Cloud) solely for database hosting, authentication, and infrastructure. These providers are bound by strict data processing agreements.
• Legal Requirements: If required by law or to protect the rights and safety of ChaosPrep and its users.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures, including secure HTTPS connections and encrypted database storage via our cloud providers, to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your study data as long as your account is active. You can completely wipe your data from our servers at any time using the "Reset All My Data" or "Sign Out" options within the application Settings. If you wish to fully delete your account and all associated records, please contact us.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. If we make significant changes, we will notify you within the application. Continued use of ChaosPrep after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
